Electric Buses in New Taipei City Surpass 200 Units, Fully Electrifying 【Route 57】 Operated by Taipei Bus

To align with the government's "2030 Full Electrification of Buses" policy, the Electric Bus National Team, Master Transportation (Master Transportation Bus Manufacturing Ltd.), has been delivering a total of 23 new electric buses to Taipei Bus (Taipei Bus Company, Ltd.) starting in September. This brings the officially total number of electric buses in New Taipei City to surpass 200. By October of this year, Route 57, which travels between Banqiao and Zhonghe, will achieve full electrification.

Lee Chien-wen, General Manager of Taipei Bus (Fourth from the Left), and Yu Li-ching, Chairwoman of Sincere Bus (Fourth from the Right), Personally Visited Nanya Station to Commend the Inauguration of the new buses.

Route 57 of Taipei Bus shuttles between Banqiao and Zhonghe, serving as one of New Taipei City's cross-district Main Line Bus. It passes through eight schools, Fuzhong Shopping District, Global Mall, Lehua Night Market, and other commercial areas, forming a key route connecting commuting, education, and tourism.
The replacement of diesel buses with electric buses at the Nanya Station, located on both sides of Hua-dong Street in Banqiao, posed challenges due to its limited space and proximity to residential areas. After bus service hours, around 30 buses are parked simultaneously, and simultaneous charging would exacerbate the space constraints or land requirement. However, due to the fast-charging features, Master electric buses can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 15 minutes, utilizing the interval time between shifts for rapid charging, allowing for immediate deployment. Furthermore, with only three charging stations needed for all 23 buses, Nanya Station can complete the seamless transition from diesel to electric buses without altering the existing parking lot layout. The switch to fast-charging buses also significantly reduces noise and exhaust impact on nearby residents.

With only three charging stations installed, Nanya Station of Taipei Bus can meet the operational needs of all 23 electric buses every day.
