In January 1969, an oil well off the coast of Santa Barbara, California, USA, had a severe oil spillage, killing thousands of seabirds, seals, dolphins, and other marine mammals. This incident drew public and media attention to address "the problem of air and water pollution."

In recent years, the electrification of public transportation has been an essential and non-negligible concept for reducing carbon emissions and slowing down global warming. It is estimated that the electric bus market will enter a peak demand period in the next few years. Various country governments are aware of the vast business opportunities related to it. This could boost domestic employment, enhance the supply chain's value, and strengthen its international status.

The large-scale deployment of electric buses requires a large national electricity capacity. To consider the net-zero transition policy, there will be a corresponding increase in renewable energy generation capacity and connection to the grid. Electric buses can balance renewable energy supply through decommissioned batteries replaced from electric buses to use for grid energy storage facilities. Charging the decommissioned batteries when renewable energy capacity is high but the demand of usage is low can help the grid capacity load balance when grid load is increased and renewable energy capacity is low. This allows making the electric buses to be part of the circular economy. Chairman Wu, Dingfa of Master Transportation, said, "Enterprises must pay attention to a low-carbon economy and strengthen carbon management. Under the green energy and green transportation trend, Master Transportation electric buses are ready to go."

Master Transportation electric buses selected lithium titanium oxide (LTO) batteries that can be used as a power battery for ten years. Then, it can be used as an energy storage battery for another ten years after decommissioning. Manage the charging capacity and grid connection, and manage the charging rate of each bus with an IT system to maximize battery life and extend battery life. Critical strategic thinking also significantly reduces unnecessary battery waste.

In addition, the electric bus industrial park planned and constructed by Master Transportation in Erlin Industrial Park, Changhua, will introduce carbon reduction measures such as green energy equipment, automation systems, selection of recycled materials, and solar panels on the roof of the entire factory area. Through the manufacturing and R&D process, carbon reduction and environmental protection are practiced. Automation and extensive data systems are used to build a smart lighthouse factory to monitor and improve energy consumption hotspots. So that Erlin Factory serves as a global electric bus supply platform and becomes a "green energy demonstration factory."
